1944

We are happy to say, we're all still here.
'tho the bloody war's still rage;
With our boys and girls-records clear.
And we turn another page.

The Matthews clan-with its women and men;
May soon become a sensation.
Like a Christmas morn, a Child is born;
The beginning of the third generation.

Our elder soon had been promised a gift;
But the Angels postponed the day.
Then Becky summons'd a hospital shift;
And they recorded "Donna Gay".
